Antoine Duchenet is an artist based between Paris and Caen. He graduated from the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris (MFA) and from the École supérieure des arts et médias de Caen (MFA).
For several
years, he is involved in a pictorial research mobilizing various
mediums. From painting restricted to its most tangible and familiar
space, that of the canvas, to more diffuse territories such as
scenography, the arrangement of objects, collecting, or instant
photography, his work is constructed and deployed essentially through series. Their respective logics and simultaneity in practice provide him with a means to invest the field of painting and its attributes - a painting on the reserve, inhabited by the object and its separation.
Recent
exhibitions include the Comédie de Caen, Frac Normandie Caen, Galerie Duchamp (Yvetot),
Atelier W (Pantin), ArtLacuna (London, UK), Espace Bertrand Grimont
(Paris); and two solo exhibitions abroad : at Nighttimestory (Los
Angeles, USA) and at SECONDroom (Antwerp, BE). He has organized
curated projects in artist-run spaces and institutions:
Le SHED (Maromme), the Atelier W, the Artothèque de Caen, the Palais de Beaux-Arts (Paris), the Medium Argent (Rouen), and the Cneai = (Paris).
